Buffalo Ranch Subdivision
The history of this project began when brothers Richard & A.B. Cook brought five buffalo from Drake, Colorado and allowed them to roam on their 100-acre plot of land near Concord, North Carolina. With the buffalo gone and land sitting vacant, this project will now be designed to create an 87-acre single-family subdivision that will preserve the existing, 11-acre lake and provide a unique neighborhood that will offer extensive walking trails, lake views, and an incorporated "commercial village" for the residents to enjoy. As part of the site / civil engineering on this project, Jones Civil Design provided consulting and support during the rezoning and annexation of the project parcels. Then, Jones Civil Design produced a preliminary design for the internal road network, utilities, stormwater management system, and the major lift station to serve this community. After that, the project was successfully sold to another Developer who will take the project further and in new directions.
